   They came from Google Fonts until 11 September 2026. Several of the
   students this laboratory serves are on slow or filtered connections,
   and a page that needs a third party to answer before it can be read is
   a page that fails them first. The laboratory lock screens load these on
   every machine, so a site that is reachable and a font host that is not
   would have left twelve kiosks unstyled.

   Only latin and latin-ext are carried. Both families are variable fonts,
   so one file per style covers its whole weight range: asking Google for
   five weights returned the same file five times.

   Licence: both are under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits
   serving them from here. The licence text is in fonts/OFL.txt.

   Lora italic is deliberately NOT carried. Nothing on the site renders it:
   the only italic rule inherits DM Sans, and all four panel headings hold
   plain text. Carrying it cost 34 KB that no page would ever download, which
   is the opposite of the reason these were brought local at all. If an
   italic Lora is ever wanted, fetch it as fonts/README.txt describes.
